Defibrillator Awareness
Giving learners the confidence and training to help prevent a cardiac arrest.
Using a defibrillator within 3-5 minutes of a casualty collapsing can increase chances of survival for a cardiac arrest to around 74%. However, research from the Resuscitation Council UK, St John Ambulance, and the British Heart Foundation shows that Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are only being used in 1 in 10 cases of cardiac arrests where one was available, and only 15% of the public would feel confident using a defibrillator.
If your workplace has recently purchased a defibrillator, or you already have one and have no understanding of how they work, this course is designed to give you and your workers the knowledge to understand just how life-saving these machines are, and the confidence to use one in an emergency incident. Learners will have hands-on experience using training defibrillators and will become familiar with their own defibrillator(s).
We can deliver training in your workplace in Berkshire and surrounding areas. This is an uncertified course. If you would like a certificate after training please specify this when booking your course. Certificates are valid for one year.
